| From the broadcast
the weekend of Nov. 15th & 16th, 2008: |
Our Featured Artists on this program were the Talley Trio. This family
group (Roger & Debra and their daughter, Lauren)
is one of the best-known and most popular of today's Southern Gospel trios.
In fact, as you heard on the program, their musical style is broad enough
that they're able to sing in major churches and other venues that don't normally
include Southern Gospel, thus introducing a lot of folks to what Southern
Gospel music is. Songs on this program were from their new "Life Goes
On" CD, and illustrated that musical variety. As you heard, "Hallelujah
Praise The Lamb" is a song the Talleys recorded many years ago but which
is "new" to today's audiences, and still just as powerful as ever both musically
and lyrically.
As the Talley Trio's website
proclaims, "Roger, Debra and Lauren Talley are a musical family devoted
to God and each other. While their roots are in southern gospel music, the
east Tennessee family has developed a unique, progressive sound that combines
southern gospel with praise and worship, hymns and other styles. The hallmarks
of the 'Talley sound' are their lush arrangements, close-knit harmonies and
powerful vocals."

the weekend of Nov. 8th & 9th, 2008: |
Our Featured Artists on this program were the Mark Trammell Trio.
Mark's been singing for about three decades with some of Southern Gospel
music's top groups the Kingsmen, the Cathedrals, Gold City,
Greater Vision and now his own trio. And he's never seemed happier in
what he's doing. He gets to preach some, which he feels called to do. But,
of course, what he does most is sing with Eric Phillips and Dustin
Sweatman as the Mark Trammell Trio. Songs on this program were
from their new "Always Have A Song" CD. Their first song from that
CD sent to radio is called "Loving the Lamb." It's more than five
minutes long. A song of that length often doesn't get as much airplay because
of radio's tight time constraints. But it's an extremely powerful song and
good reminder of God's promise to be with us always. So we'll see. I liked
Mark's remark about singing quartet songs, even though they're a trio. Honestly,
sometimes listening to their songs you forget they're not a quartet.
Congratulations to Dustin for the song he wrote with Diane Wilkinson,
"If God Said It, I Believe It." I like the truths spoken in this song
that you can't just accept parts of the Bible, you must accept it
all. But you have to listen carefully to the song or you might miss the point
that's being made.

A Song" is available from our mailorder service, Springside. Just call

Woody Wright was asked to sing his "I'm So Glad It's Over"
song (that you heard on this broadcast) on the Indianapolis Fox TV affiliate
Nov. 5th, the morning after Election Day. How appropriate.
The trio HisSong has seen great success with their songs this year,
especially "I Still Have It All" earlier this year and most recently
"That's When God Steps In." Both of those songs are songs of encouragement
to the Christian, as is their other song heard on this program's Artist Spotlight
segment, "Through Every Storm." As the guys said on the air, they
always look for songs of hope and encouragement, because, aside from salvation,
of course, that's what people seem to need most these days. All three of
the songs heard were from their "On The Way Up" CD. Not mentioned
on the air was the fact that HisSong Dennis Humphries, Adam Cannon
and Adam Elrod recently spent a week in Peru, ministering
to children of poverty there in association with Compassion International.

These "Current Information" listings are dated to correspond to the
program that is provided to stations to air on a specific weekend. Sometimes,
for whatever reason, a few stations may inadvertantly air the wrong
programa week early or perhaps late. That is why you might be hearing
dated references on the program that don't make sense, including references
to future or outdated giveaways. Fortunately, this kind of occurrance is
very rare. But please let us know
if you notice this happening regularly on your local station.
