| From the broadcast
the weekend of Oct. 25th & 26th, 2008: |
Our Featured Artists on this broadcast were
Ernie Haase & Signature Sound with songs from their brand new
"Dream On" CD. Although the CD doesn't release until the coming week,
they released to radio a song from that CD a few months ago entitled "Reason
Enough," and, as you heard on the program, this song has quickly become
extremely popular. It's an outstanding song about the reasons for our faith
in a day when so many critics ridicule Christian beliefs. This CD is a studio
recording, but, as you heard on the program, they also did a companion DVD
video, recorded at Chicago's famous Navy Pier. ("The Old Landmark"
song video on that DVD is worth the price of the DVD! If you've ever been
to Chicago, you'll instantly recognize the "old landmarks" of this great
city.) Perhaps not reflected in the songs we chose to include in this program,
this CD includes a variety of musical styles, including some "big band" and
jazz stylings, but all of which will fall very gently on the ears of Southern
Gospel music fans. Ernie and the guys in his group truly are living out a
dream and, fortunately, they intend to "dream on."
The Ernie Haase & Signature Sound CD featured on this program,

This was the official Singing News Top 20 Countdown Edition, reflecting
the chart as it appears in the magazine's November issue. Congratulations
to Karen Peck & New River on their amazing third number one song
from their "Journey Of Joy" CD. I don't recall that ever happening
before.
On the Headline Update you heard a few highlights from the 2008
Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame induction ceremonies October 9th at
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Special thanks to Daniel Britt of Joy FM for sharing
his recording of this event with us. Although we've been there every other
year, I couldn't go this year due to illness. Information about the Hall
of Fame is available from the Southern Gospel Music Association at
www.sgma.org.
