From the broadcast the weekend of Sept. 6th & 7th, 2008:

Click for Dove Brothers When our Featured Artists on this broadcast, the Dove Brothers, dropped by our studios two weeks ago for an interview, their enthusiasm for their current "Life" CD was readily apparent — even though it's been out since spring (April 15th). It's already produced two radio hits, "You Don't Know God's Love" and, most recently, "You Would Think He Would Learn." The group, as you know, includes two actual brothers, McCray and Eric Dove, along with Jerry Martin, David Hester and pianist Jerry Kelso. The album's title is interesting because, as you heard the guys explain on the program, every song on the CD is, in some way, about life. You can reach the Dove Brothers at office@dovebrothersquartet.com or by phone at 910-863-3808.

Click for Springside The Dove Brothers' CD featured on this program, "Life," is available from our mailorder service, Springside. Just call 1-800-38-MUSIC to order. You can order easily from our webstore by using this link to go directly to this item. (Orders over $40 in the USA qualify for free shipping.)

The Famous Clip-Art Quartet This was our annual All-Quartets Edition, celebrating the start of the National Quartet Convention, Sept. 8-13, 2008, in Louisville, KY. (Info about the NQC can be found at www.natqc.com.) Quartet music has always been the foundation for what we call Southern Gospel, and, although many trios and even soloists are part of the field today, quartet music remains a mainstay today. Technically, I suppose we could have included mixed quartets on this program, but, as it worked out, they were all male quartets. I always especially enjoy this program and, judging from your e-mails in past years, this is a favorite of many of you, too.

The "Yesterday's Voices" feature on this broadcast with the late James Blackwood will probably be the last "Yesterday's Voices" feature for the season. But, since response has been overwhelmingly appreciative, you can be sure this feature will be back in the future.
